SCENE I: The Creation and Destruction of the Five Worlds

1. Music: INTRO SONG FADE

3. NARRARATOR 1: In the beginning, five worlds and their suns were created
with each world taking its own path of destruction.

4. SOUND: BOMB

5. NARRARATOR 2: The people of the first world, with the sun of earth, acted improperly, and they were destroyed when god sent jaguars
to rip their flesh from their bones with their teeth.

6. SOUND: ROARING JAGUARS

7. NARRARATOR 2: The second world, with the sun of air, was destroyed by
extreme hurricanes.

8. SOUND: WIND

9. NARRARATOR 2: The people of the second world lacked wisdom and were
turned into apes.

10. SOUND: MONKEY NOISES

One by one, the first four worlds and thier suns were created and destroyed. The fifth world and the sun of the four movements still survive.

11. NARRARATOR 3: The sun died as the people turned into animals. The third world, with the sun of the fiery rain, was destroyed by fire and eruptions because of the peoples lack of respect for the
gods.

12. GOD: (LOUD AND POWERFULLY) I am your god. Make me a
sacrifice!

13. EARTH PEOPLE: Pssh. No! We don’t feel like it.

14. NARRARATOR 3: The fourth world, with the sun of the water, was punished by great floods for the people were greedy and
subsequently turned into fish.

15. SOUND: WATER BUBBLES

16. NARRARATOR 4: The Supreme Being wanted to save a human couple and
said,

17. SUPREME BEING: (LOUD AND POWERFULLY) You two down there! How
would you like to live?

18: COUPLE: Yay! Yes please! That would be great!

19. NARRARATOR 1: The couple obeyed the instructions and survived the flood. Then the woman saw all the fish on the ground and
Exclaimed,

20. WOMAN OF COUPLE: Hey, lets eat all these fish!

21. NARRARATOR 2: But the Supreme Being did not approve. The human couple was turned into a pair of dogs while parts of their brains
were removed.

22. SOUND: BARKING DOGS

23. NARRARATOR 1: The gods decided to make a fifth world, but before they could get started, they needed to find someone to be the
new sun.

24. WEALTHY GOD: I would love to do this job!

The wealthy god watches, terrified, as Nanautzin sacrifices himself to create the sun for the fifth world.

25. GOD 1: Oh! Did you hear that? The wealthy god has volunteered!

26. GOD 2: I think you would be a great new sun for our world!

27. GOD 1: Definitely!

28. GOD 2: Now we only need one more god to create the sun.
Nanautzin, will you volunteer?

29. NANAUTZIN: Sure…

30. GOD 2: Great! Now, wealthy god, please jump into the fire.

31. WEALTHY GOD: (PANICKING) No way am I jumping into the flaming abyss! It is much to hot and most definitely unsanitary!

32. NARRARATOR 3: Because of the wealthy god’s stubborn refusal to comply, Nanautzin jumped into the fire and became the sun.

As serpents, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca rip the monstrous goddess in half to form the earth.






SCENE II: The Creation of the Earth


1. NARRARATOR 4: As Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca looked at the monstrous ocean goddess who was eating everything in sight,

2. SOUND: CHOMPING

3. NARRARATOR 4: They said to one another,

4. QUETZALCOATL: (ANGRY) This has to stop!

5. TEZCATLIPOCA: She is destroying all of our creations!

6. QUETZALCOATL: And after we worked so hard…

7. NARRARATOR 1: The two gods went down to the water as two enormous serpents and pulled the ocean goddess apart. The top half
was turned into the earth while the bottom half became the sky and the heavens. Through an act of remorsefulness, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca gave her the gift of human life. Because the goddess is often unhappy, humans are made to sacrifice their lives for her.



SCENE III: The Creation of Humans

1. NARRARATOR 2: Quetzalcoatl decided to make a race of human beings. He consulted the ants, who showed him how to collect corn to teach human beings how to farm. Quetzalcoatl then went find the bones of his father, which he would use to create

the humans. The god of death asked Quetzalcoatl to
perform a task before he would bestow the bones upon him.
Quetzalcoatl was tricked by the god of death.

2. GOD OF DEATH: Hey, just kidding! You can’t actually have those bones!
Give them back.

3. QUETZALCOATL: (SURPRIZED) He tricked me!

4. NARRARATOR 3: He had to resort to stealing the bones. He took the bones to the upper world where birds pecked them to bits. The goddess woman snake ground the bones into a meal with which Quetzalcoatl mixed his blood and molded the human beings.
